Hullo! A couple of changes to the way I charge domestic parcel post.
Australia Post made a few changes to their domestic post charges a couple of times already this year (as well as previous years). I, however, did not take these price increases into account in my shipping cost and have had the same charges for past 2 years. Unfortunately though, I have to increase the shipping charges slightly as a response to Australia Post’s increases.
Domestic regular postage and handling for parcels weighing up to 500g will change from $8.50 to $8.95.
In the past, for all the My Teeny-Tiny Dolls® purchases, postage service included regular post, signature on delivery + extra cover. In order to keep postal charges under control, all domestic parcels weighing up to 500g will be shipped via regular post at $8.95 only. Customers who wish to have the additional services of signature on delivery and extra cover (insurance) can request for it and I will send a PayPal invoice to cover the extra cost.
I advise to add signature on delivery + extra cover if by any chance your postal service isn’t up to par, you are not home for deliveries or you have had misfortunes in the past of parcels going missing or damaged, I atleast recommend signature on delivery.
“Want to know your item has been delivered and signed for? Signature on Delivery captures a signature of the recipient once the item has been delivered.”
Price $2.95 extra.
For valuable items, extra cover is a great additional postal service to have.
“Sending something valuable or important? Extra Cover provides you with cover for the specified value of your item (up to $5,000) if your item is lost or damaged while being carried by Australia Post.”
Price $1.50 per $100 of your item’s value (or part thereof). For items valued over $300, signature on delivery must be added.
If you know you have a great postal service in your area or you have your letters and parcels delivered to a P.O. Box, then regular postage should suffice. All regular postage includes tracking so if the parcels do go on a detour, it is easier to track and I can lodge an enquiry with Australia Post. Do note though, if parcel is lost or damaged, I recommend to have signature on delivery + extra cover.
Thanks for your continued support.
