Repurposed Men’s T-shirt to Toddler Raglan Tee

Here is another repurposing project done. I had a men’s Singapore souvenir t-shirt that had never been worn and had been sitting in the cupboard untouched, so it was added into the “repurpose” pile.

I made the pattern for this tee by taking one of the boys’ old raglan tee PJ top and took  it apart and traced out the pattern pieces.

I used new black knit jersey fabric for the sleeves. For the stitching, I used the stretch stitch on my sewing machine which has a narrow zig-zag so the thread stretches with the fabric. But I want to try to figure out how to sew a straight top stitch that’ll stretch with the fabric and not snap – thinking maybe an elasticised thread … hmmm?

Here’s Josh wearing it today.

… cricket action shot!

Now to find more old t-shirt to cut up.
